Tony Devenish, Assembly Member for West Central this week highlighted the waste of taxpayer’s money on Hammersmith and Fulham’s Council.
Instead of focusing on efficiently delivering local government services and keeping the borough’s streets clean, the Council Leader has been committing time and public money to investigating whether the ship depicted in the Council's shield is a slave boat. Unfortunately, this is a complete waste of the taxpayers' hard-earned money.
The Council should be using its resources to reopen Hammersmith Bridge, work effectively with the local police force and provide value for money for the ratepayers of Hammersmith and Fulham.
Tony explains
While the Council should be tackling serious issues and working to improve the lives of local people, it is wasting money on useless self-appointed tasks which do not benefit residents.
I call on the Council to start acting in the interests of local people and support the community as we exit the lockdown.
