This week, Tony Devenish highlighted the Mayor’s failure to support our city’s bus network.
The Mayor’s shortcomings on London’s buses ranks as one of the most underreported failures of his five years in office. While previous Mayors have made great efforts to boost and support local bus services, the current Mayor has allowed our buses to fall into disrepair. He has neglected to properly fund them and not only has he viciously cut the service on many bus routes but he has axed multiple services altogether.
Our global city requires an efficient and effective bus service which prioritises the needs of local people.
Tony has argued that London urgently needs a modern and environmentally responsible bus fleet. He will continue to campaign for the introduction and rapid roll-out of an all-electric bus fleet in our great capital.
Tony explains,
Local people deserve better, they desperately need a well-functioning and properly funded local bus service.
At the moment, our city has neither and I will continue to call on the Mayor to do the right thing for local people and finally support London’s bus network.
