Tony Devenish AM believes Londoners should decide on Mayor Khan's Congestion Charge hike.
Tony explains
Last week, I again asked Sadiq Khan whether he was going to give Londoners a say over his Congestion Charge hike - £15 a day, seven days a week until 10pm.
I firmly believe that it's wrong the public hasn't been given the opportunity to have their say on this crucial issue.
Mayor Khan's hike disproportionally affects people on lower incomes living within the Congestion Charge zone of which there is a significant number in West Central.
Many small businesses who operate within the zone have also seen their costs significantly rise at a time when their revenues have been affected by COVID-19.
Again the Mayor tried the blame the government for the hike, something which he has admitted previously himself was not the case! London deserves better.
